Learn how to cook/bake

Do you know how to cook? If not, why don’t you take this time learn how to. If you already know how to cook, try out new recipes or new cuisine. If you are new to cooking, I will recommend that you search YouTube for the recipe as you will be able to see how they cook and understand their methods. There are tons and tons of recipes out in the internet and they are many variations to the same dish. So, all you have to do is select one recipe and tweak on the it so that it will suit your taste.

Pick up a new skill

Don’t know how to use excel, Photoshop or even a DSLR? This is the best chance to takeaway some skills that you can use for your lifetime. There are many online learning platforms such as Coursera or Udemy that you can learn for free. You can also take this time to learn how to sing, foreign language, simple magic tricks or a musical instrument.

Binge watch TV Series

With all the free TV channels provided by your telco during this period, why not make full use of it. Otherwise, if you have Netflix subscription or Amazon Prime, save up some of the highly rated drama/movies into your playlist. If you do not have Netflix, they are giving you trial for 30 days now!

If you are a fan of Marvel, there are also tv series such as Iron Fist, Daredevil, Jessica Jones and The Defenders.

If you are a fan of Korea drama, you can go for Crash Landing on You, Itawon Class, The King: Eternal Monarch or Hi Bye, Mama!

If you are a fan of English series, you can check out Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Good Place, The Witcher, Money Heist and Stranger Things.

There is also a “Coronavirus, Explained’ documentary that was released recently.

Organise your house

It is true for some that the number of items they have in the varies to the number of years they stay. There will be some items which have memorable value and some which has been forgotten over the years. Unless you have been doing your spring cleaning regularly, this is the perfect timing to tidy up your house. For ideas, you can check out Marie Kondo’s home organisation tips which went viral previously!

Play Games

There are plenty of games out there for you to play yourself or with your family. There is console (Playstation, Switch), PC, or even board games to keep you entertain for hours or days or even months. Check out the latest hype game: Animal Crossing. that lets you host up to seven guests on an island has also become a popular way to throw real-world events like birthday parties and even weddings.

Exercise

With the closure of gym, and crowd in the park, why not just exercise in your house? You don’t have to run 2.4km for cardio or lift weights for strength training. There are plenty of exercise you can follow on YouTube that trains different parts of your body and all can be done at home. If you like to exhaust yourself, you can consider trying out Tabata workout. It is a High-intensity interval training (HIIT) that usually consist of 8 sets of fast pace exercises in 20 seconds interval and 10 seconds of rest. You can increase the level of difficulty by increasing the number of reps. If you are looking to train your core, you can try out yoga. You will be surprised that to some, yoga is even better than going to the gym.

Wash your car

Yes, you are still allowed to wash your car if you are washing in your private property. For those who are staying in HDB, you are allowed to wash your car provided you are alone and wearing a mask.
